Job Description

Therapist Role Description -
Marshmallow's Hope Mission :
Marshmallow's Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to mitigating youth suicide by providing pro bono psychotherapy treatment to individuals aged 9 to 26. We also offer grief counseling for those affected by the loss of suicide.
Responsibilities :
Conduct individual psychotherapy sessions with clients within the specified age range, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Provide grief counseling services to individuals and families impacted by suicide loss, fostering healing and coping strategies. Collaborate with the clinical team to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each client's needs and goals. Participate in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and outpatient counseling continuum of care, offering consistent support and guidance to clients. Group therapy sessions for at-risk youth and suicide survivors Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. Attend regular team meetings and clinical supervision sessions to enhance professional development and ensure quality care delivery. Must be available Monday-Thursday 11am-8pm and Fridays 9am-4pm

Qualifications :
Licensed or certified therapist (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC) with experience in providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and young adults. A Master in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field required. Specialized training or experience in grief counseling, particularly in the context of suicide bereavement. Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and cultural competence to effectively engage with diverse clients and families. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment.
