The Counselor will be responsible for counseling youth and families and providing group services.
EDUCATION
Master's Degree in Human Services or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with youth.
AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE
Human services system dynamics, state regulations and guidelines, community resources.
SKILLS:
1. Proficient in both verbal and written communication 2. Ability to exercise discretion and ensure confidentiality 3. Capable of handling high-stress situations 4. Works well in a team environment 5. Good organization 6. Empathy for families and acceptance of diversity
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide community-based counseling services to youth and families including services on-site and at client residences. 2. Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans. 3. Provide linkage of clients to community services as needed. 4. Maintain files, provide necessary reports to DCFS, court, etc. 5. Follow CCBYS counseling guidelines and expectations. 6. Follow all other duties as assigned.
