A Mental or Behavioral Health Counselor works with patients to treat mental health problems. Assesses patients and assists with diagnosis, counseling and crisis intervention. Consults with nurses, doctors and psychiatrists. May work with specific populations, such as youth, senior citizens or substance abusers, in group settings, facilities or hospitals.

Pay:
Up to $1600/weekly gross (with max travel stipend and housing provided by client) Key Responsibilities Provide therapy, develop individualized treatment plans, and teach coping strategies for clients managing substance use disorders. Deliver care across both individual and group therapy environments. Coordinate care and wrap-around services with community partners, including healthcare providers, housing organizations, social services agencies, and educational programs. Participate in a county-wide crisis rotation, providing direct support during crisis situations and delivering necessary follow-up care. Respond to crisis calls in teams of two, utilizing a provided company vehicle for official crisis travel (covering up to a 1.5-hour radius). Conduct outreach and non-emergency clinical tasks during non-crisis periods, such as following up with potential crisis clients and managing outpatient caseloads. Qualifications & Requirements Valid Oregon Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) designation required. Valid Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification required. Active and valid Driver's License required. Prior experience in community mental health, crisis response, or substance use disorder therapy strongly preferred.
