Full Job Description Description:
Licensed Clinicians function as an integral part of a behavioral health care system, administering the SUD Assessment, and other screening tools to determine a SUD diagnostic impression; rating the severity of alcohol/drug use; recommending appropriate placement at the safest and most clinically appropriate level of care in a treatment setting, monitoring/identification and/or referral of the client to care coordination or peer mentor services until they are able to access treatment services. Substance Use Disorder Assessment Applies a multi-disciplinary approach to client care.Uses age-appropriate diagnostic tools:
The American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement Criteria and DSM-IV diagnostic criteria, testing instruments, in the continuum of care, intervention techniques. Meets Access to Care Standards by maintaining adequate coverage, conducting assessments. Provides accurate/timely documentation of clinical diagnosis and outcomes. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Takes standby rotation of on call clinicians. Application of Appropriate Treatment Curriculum Provides treatment and discharge planning through components of the substance use curriculum and treatment process. Facilitates the therapeutic treatment requirements to include individual and group sessions to participants with the anticipation of successfully completing the core requirements. Complete required paperwork in a timely manner, to meet curriculum and licensing requirements. Develop and assign individualized practice work to enhance the progress and development of participants. Guide participants to successful completion of curriculum through individualized treatment plans. Assess ongoing need for continued care; and generating clinically appropriate referrals into community-based recovery-oriented systems of care. Document client and treatment outcomes and provide reports to appropriate stakeholders. Maintain a professional presence to include appropriate boundaries. Skills & Attributes Maintains professional and clinical knowledge of the SUD field. Ability to demonstrate considerable independent judgement. Displays professional and ethical behavior as demonstrated through honesty, accountability, and maintaining confidentiality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to manage time and resources to prioritize tasks appropriately. Detail-oriented to allow for timely completion of documentation. Displays courtesy, tact, respect and acceptance towards clients and stakeholders. Follows Agency Policy, Procedures & Licensing Standards Contributes to team effort by maintaining productive working relationships with agency staff and stakeholders.Education & Experience:
Minimum required qualifications include: Licensure through the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board of KS (BSRB) LAC- Licensed Addictions Counselor LMAC
- Licensed Masters Addictions Counselor LCAC
- Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor Experience working with diverse individuals including those with substance use disorders.
