A Mental or Behavioral Health Counselor works with patients to treat mental health problems. Assesses patients and assists with diagnosis, counseling and crisis intervention. Consults with nurses, doctors and psychiatrists. May work with specific populations, such as youth, senior citizens or substance abusers, in group settings, facilities or hospitals.

Job Description
Responsibilities will include: Complete clinical intake assessment for new clients Determine appropriate level of care recommendations and internal referrals to Emerald services as needed Maintain complete and accurate client records per regulations Provides clinical coverage when needed, including but not limited to treatment planning, group and individual counseling Participates in quality assurance related to the intake and assessment process Ensure services provided are necessary and evidence-based, and within the ethical and legal scope of practice Coordinate care with other service providers, as appropriate Participate in case consultation as indicated Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, tact and professional demeanor. Excellent verbal, written and/or interpersonal communication skills.

Licensed Clinical Social WorkerLCSW, LICSW, CSW
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist- LMFT Licensed Professional Counselor
LPC, LPCC, LCPC
