Duties Assist licensed counselors in conducting client intake and comprehensive assessments using DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding standards Support individual and group therapy sessions, applying evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and behavioral management techniques Participate in crisis intervention and crisis management activities to ensure client safety and well-being Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation following HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans that address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues Conduct client assessments related to mental health, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and behavioral health needs Collect data for research purposes, monitor patient progress, and contribute to case management efforts aimed at optimizing patient outcomes Requirements Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program such as social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field Basic knowledge of psychotherapy modalities including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis, and behavior management Familiarity with mental health diagnostic tools such as DSM-5 and ICD coding systems Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders is preferred Strong understanding of clinical documentation standards, medical terminology, and electronic health record (EHR) management systems (e.g., EMR/EHR) Excellent communication skills for client interaction, case documentation, and team collaboration Ability to work effectively with diverse populations from various cultural backgrounds in a compassionate manner Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, crisis management protocols, and patient assessment procedures Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Demonstrated interest in addiction medicine, mental health counseling, or behavioral health fields is highly desirable Join us to develop your skills in addiction counseling while making a meaningful impact on individuals seeking recovery.
