SUD Counselor / Group Therapist 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars Catonsville, MD 21228 MJ Morgan Group 57 reviews A growing behavioral health organization is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor / Group Therapist to provide recovery-focused services to individuals participating in outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), and partial hospitalization (PHP) programs throughout Maryland. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping individuals navigate recovery, develop healthy coping strategies, and achieve long-term wellness through evidence-based and trauma-informed care.
Qualifications:
LCADC, CAC-AD, or CSC-AD credential required Bachelor's or Master's degree in Behavioral Health, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred Experience working with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions preferred Knowledge of ASAM Criteria, Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention, and Trauma-Informed Care Strong group facilitation, communication, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational group sessions Support clients in developing recovery and relapse prevention strategies Conduct screenings, assessments, and ongoing progress monitoring Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation Provide crisis intervention and support as needed Assist with treatment planning, referrals, and discharge coordination Qualified candidates who are passionate about behavioral health, recovery support, and client advocacy are encouraged to apply. #HC123
