Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, where you will serve as a vital link in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from behavioral health and addiction challenges. Your lived experience and compassionate guidance will empower clients to navigate mental health issues, manage crises, and build resilience. This paid role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by fostering hope, promoting recovery, and strengthening community wellness through peer-led support. Duties Provide peer-based support and mentorship to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use issues, utilizing your personal recovery experience to inspire hope. Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans, setting achievable goals, and identifying community resources. Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for clients and staff. Use motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavioral change and reinforce recovery milestones. Document interactions, progress notes, and service activities accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Collaborate with clinical teams, social workers, and other providers to coordinate care and support client needs effectively. Educate clients about behavioral health topics, addiction counseling strategies, and available social services to promote ongoing recovery efforts. Skills Strong understanding of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling, and addiction recovery processes. Proven ability in crisis intervention and crisis management with a calm, proactive approach. Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and empower individuals facing complex challenges. Experience with social work practices and familiarity with CRM systems for documentation purposes. Effective communication skills, including motivational interviewing techniques that foster trust and engagement. Knowledge of community resources related to mental health, substance use treatment, housing, employment, and social services. Ability to work independently while collaborating seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive support.
