Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Spanish-speaking Alcohol and Drug Trainee to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating counseling sessions to help clients achieve recovery and improve their overall mental health. The Alcohol and Drug Trainee will work collaboratively with supervising counselors and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Responsibilities Assess new clients and gather information to diagnose for substance abuse disorders. Facilitate and document group therapy sessions for outpatient programs. Document client progress accurately using ICD-10 coding standards and maintain confidentiality in compliance with regulations. Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner and complete clinical documentation requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including child family counseling specialists, to provide holistic care. Offer home community care resources and referrals for clients transitioning from treatment. Experience A current certification as ADT, CAC-AD or CSC-AD is required. A degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required. Previous experience in mental health counseling or behavioral health settings is preferred. Familiarity with addiction medicine principles and crisis management techniques is essential. Knowledge of ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation with DSM V and
ASAM PPC-II
is a plus. Possess the clinical skill set to recognize signs of patient impairment and conduct substance abuse detection screenings. Experience in child family counseling or community care services is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds are crucial for success in this role.
