Non Exempt Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old. Possess genuine concern for and ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness. Experience in supporting persons served in independent living settings. Possession of a safe driving record and current licensure. Demonstrates the ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously. Demonstrates the ability to initiate, develop, and maintain positive relationships with employees, guardians, and contract agencies. Must be negative for TB or have physician clearance. Must meet criminal background check criteria.
Travel:
Daily travel to and from appointments, activities, and errands may be required.
Essential Duties and Functions:
Assure that all Independent Living Assistants are knowledgeable of and actively support the facilitation of increasing independence and community inclusion of persons served. Responsible for serving as team leader for the Independent Living Assistants assigned to independent living settings.
This may include responsibility for:
Recruitment and interviewing of job applicants Training, coaching, and supervising staff Scheduling and staff utilization Billing Payroll Responds immediately to any possible abuse or neglect of any persons served and report action to the Program Manager. Receives crisis and emergency calls after work hours. Coordinates any absences or unavailability with the Program Manager. Seeks supervisory direction whenever there is a question or concern, or a need for support.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to meet physical demands of the job including stopping, bending, turning, stretching, lifting, assisting residents, making beds and moving equipment. Must accept risk of working in a group setting where employees are exposed to communicable diseases and occasional combativeness. Ability to work in an environment that generates ongoing noise from individual(s), audio devices, equipment, etc. Onsite work required. Required to work variable hours/shifts, must be willing and available to work every other weekend or as scheduled.
