•LMSW Intake Therapist

POSITION DUTIES

•Intake Therapist in the Adult Behavioral Health Program. Conduct timely intake assessments to identify consumer needs and preferences, gathering information from all available sources and using motivational interviewing to understand readiness for change. Provide clear guidance on available services, support person•centered planning, and develop Safety Plans when needed. Help coordinate further evaluations and referrals, encourage the use of group and support services, and participate in supervision, consultations, and team meetings. Document all consumer interactions within required timeframes, maintain productivity standards, respond to audits, uphold licensure and training requirements, and adhere to professional ethics, boundaries, and all organizational policies, along with performing other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Must have a minimum of a master's degree in social work, Psychology or Counseling Possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure•LMSW, LLP, or LPC. All state licensures must continually remain active, in effect, and free from disciplinary action. Full license highly preferred. Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional and Qualified Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Professional credential within 120 days of hire. Must possess a CAADC credential, or be on an active, approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire. At least one-year post-Master's experience providing mental health treatment services to adults with severe mental illness. The Intake Therapist must have the ability to engage and develop therapeutic alliances with adult mental health consumers, their families and supporters. Must be an expert in helping consumers identify their service needs and preferences, develop initial treatment plans, and transition to longer-term services based on their treatment plans. Additional requirements include a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of adults with mental illness, substance abuse/dependence, their families and providers. Candidates must demonstrate effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

•Mon-Thu 8:30am-7pm & Fri 8:30am-5pm (37.5hrs/week). Some evening or weekend hours.
