Job Description

We are seeking a mobile crisis specialist which includes a flexible schedule and the ability to work partially from home. Great opportunity with a signing bonus of $500 paid upon start-date! The Mobile Crisis Specialist serves as a member of the Crisis Intervention Team, and as such has responsibilities to provide crisis intervention and responsibilities to provide crisis intervention and resolution twenty-four (24) hours per day, every day. Linkage and referral capabilities with a twenty-four (24) hour emergency hotline have been established to assure prompt and adequate response by the Mobile Crisis Specialist. Crisis response staff shall have twenty-four (24) hour per day access to a physician for consultation and emergency face-to-face intervention when appropriate. Mobile Crisis Specialist provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance abuse and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. Mobile Crisis Specialist demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. Mobile Crisis Specialist will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. 7 on and 7 off schedule.
Education:
Mobile Crisis Specialist will meet the following educational and experience requirements: A master's degree in behavioral health meeting the criteria as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as outlined by Missouri Department of Mental Health, having completed a clinical practicum/internship or A Qualified Addition Professional (QAP) as outlined by the Missouri Department of Mental Health or A bachelor's degree in a human services field with at least three (3) years of experience in behavioral health, required. Experience is considered as a combination of direct work experience, approved graduate-level education, and/or graduate-level clinical internship.
Responsibilities:
Assure that the following basic principles of crisis intervention underlie delivery of these services: o Assistance must be easily accessed and immediately available. o Crisis should be viewed in systems terms, suggesting the need to involve significant others to resolve the precipitating event, if possible. o Crisis services should focus on the present and reduce stress and tension. o Medication may be a necessary strategy to reduce stress. o Active intervention including advocacy, supportive guidance, and identification of adaptive responses are generally required to solve the crisis. Provide crisis/emergency services and consultations to identified patients at the specified hospital of their choice when requested. This shall include patients who have been admitted to a medical floor and whose current case manager is unavailable. Honor all requests for consultation on patients who have been admitted to a hospital floor for medical or psychiatric reasons. Provide consultative services for these hospital patients and assist with the deposition and referrals. Provide emergency services, including screening to the Barton, Jasper, McDonald, and Newton County jails at the site of the jail when appropriate. Be knowledgeable in involuntary detention laws and procedures and consults with the area Mental Health Coordinator and/or Community Behavioral Health Liaison. Report to the Crisis Services Supervisor for program specific supervision and shall be under the administration of the Director and Assistant Director of Crisis Services.
