Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team. Duties Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately document patient conditions. Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology coordination, and applied behavior analysis. Provide individual counseling sessions focused on an array of mental health issues. Implement crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety during acute episodes; perform crisis intervention when necessary. Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical records with detailed documentation of patient progress, medical terminology usage, and treatment outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, inpatient/outpatient care coordination, and clinical research projects aimed at advancing mental health practices. Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote counseling services while adhering to all regulatory standards for medical documentation and patient confidentiality, when necessary. Experience Proven experience in clinical mental health counseling within outpatient setting. Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, and addiction counseling. Strong background working with adults involved in the criminal justice system. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; experience with CPT coding is a plus. Experience in crisis management scenarios involving trauma or PTSD care; ability to perform intake assessments efficiently. Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and familiarity with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy compliance. Telehealth experience is preferred to support remote patient engagement effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
