Job Description
Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) - Missoula Women's Campus About Life Renewal Life Renewal, a program of Adult & Teen Challenge - Pacific Northwest , is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to putting Hope Within Reach of All Addicts . We provide compassionate, evidence-based substance use disorder treatment grounded in Biblical principles. As our services continue to grow, we are seeking a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) to provide high-quality clinical care and support program development through leadership and collaboration. Position Summary The Licensed Addiction Counselor provides direct clinical services to individuals with substance use disorders while supporting coordinated, team-based care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent documentation practices, and alignment with Life Renewal's mission and values. As the program grows, this position may also provide supervision to a small group of counselors. Key Responsibilities Conduct substance use assessments using DSM-5 and ASAM criteria Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices (e.g., Motivational Interviewing) Coordinate care with medical providers, mental health professionals, and community resources Track client progress using measurement-based tools Ensure timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record Facilitate referrals for mental health, housing, and other supportive services as indicated Participate in team meetings, peer review, and quality improvement activities Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional ethical standards Collaborate effectively with staff, supervisors, and community partners Perform additional duties as assigned to support program goals Required Qualifications Active Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC/ACLC) license in the State of Montana Valid Montana driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire) Minimum two years free from chemical use problems as defined by program policy Ability to work within a faith-based, Christian mission Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) Preferred Knowledge & Skills Evidence-based substance use disorder treatment Motivational Interviewing and brief structured interventions Understanding of psychopharmacology within scope of practice Time management, organization, and clinical documentation excellence Cultural sensitivity and awareness of community resources Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team Working Conditions Primarily indoor, climate-controlled environment OSHA Exposure Category #1 (potential exposure to bodily fluids) Occasional travel to other clinic or community sites may be required Mission Alignment Requirement Applicants must be able to support and operate within Life Renewal's mission: To assist teens and adults in gaining freedom from chemical addiction by applying Biblical principles, promoting a chemical-free lifestyle, strengthening social and work skills, building supportive relationships, and encouraging spiritual growth through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
