Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic mental health team as a dedicated Mental Health Counselor, where your expertise will make a profound difference in the lives of individuals facing diverse psychological challenges. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychotherapy, conduct diagnostic evaluations, and develop personalized treatment plans to promote mental well-being. Your compassionate approach and clinical skills will support clients across outpatient, inpatient, and telehealth settings, ensuring they receive the highest quality care. Responsibilities Real 10-99 workplace environment Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during urgent situations. Provide specialized counseling for children, adolescents, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Manage case documentation meticulously in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including medical records, progress notes, and treatment plans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on patient care plans, including social workers, medical staff, and special education professionals. Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to extend mental health services remotely while maintaining high standards of patient confidentiality and engagement. Qualifications Master's degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution. Licensure or certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent required. Proven experience in clinical counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings; hospital experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatments such as behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology basics, grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, and gender issues counseling. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, medical terminology, and medical documentation standards. Excellent skills in crisis management, social work practices, behavior management techniques, and patient assessment methods. Experience working with diverse populations including children with special needs or disabilities; working with individuals with autism or chronic pain is a plus. Proficiency in telehealth technology platforms and remote patient engagement strategies.
