Mental Health Counselor

Job Description As a Mental Health Counselor, you will serve adults with mental illness in a partial care setting by working as part of a talented, energetic team who develops, implements and monitors individual recovery plans and progress in order to support consumers' stability within the community.

Duties:

• Facilitate group counseling sessions addressing topics such as psychoeducation, peer support, interpersonal skills, recovery strategies, etc.
• Develop collaborative individualized recovery plans with clients
• Implement interventions and monitor responses to support symptom management and improved mental wellness
• Provide personal 1:1 support, and assist with de-escalation/crisis-intervention as needed
• Coordinate with clients' adjunct services for continuity of care, including family members, community workers, group homes, hospitals, DCP&P/Probation, Social Services, etc.
• Maintain client records, including daily group notes and weekly progress notes

Qualifications:

Active NJ licensure including

LSW, LAC

• OR•Bachelor's Degree in related field of study (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.
• OR•Associates Degree with work experience in the mental health / human services field Experience in mental health and co-occurring treatment Ability to conduct thorough bio-psycho-social assessments

Hours:

• Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm
• Full-time only.

No evening or on-call hours

Salary:

$42,500

• Bachelor's level $60,000
• with NJ licensure
