Job Description
The Associate Director of the Counseling Center partners with the Director to develop, manage, and continuously improve Counseling Center operations and their impact across the campus community. The Associate Director assists with the overall management of day-to-day functioning and clinical operations of the Counseling Center and assumes responsibility in the Director's absence. This position directly supervises a team of clinicians and graduate student trainees, manages the practicum and internship training program, and provides direct mental health counseling and crisis intervention for students.

Full Time 12 months Support daily Counseling Center operations, including workflows, scheduling, coverage, triage, crisis response, and policy implementation. Support clinical operations, including service delivery, crisis intervention, utilization review, quality improvement, and EHR use; oversee emergency screenings and referrals. Supervise clinicians; assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluation; provide weekly supervision; monitor performance, professional development, and compliance. Design and manage graduate practicum/internship programs; recruit, train, and supervise trainees; collaborate with academic faculty per supervision agreements. Oversee clinical documentation standards, quality improvement initiatives, and EHR updates/maintenance. Provide individual and group counseling; conduct intakes, triage, and crisis intervention; maintain records and coordinate referrals. Assist in updating policies, procedures, and campus emergency mental health response protocols. Ensure staff and trainees comply with licensing standards, legal/ethical guidelines, andHIPAA/FERPA
; support delivery of timely, quality care. Support compliance with federal and state mandates (e.g., Holleran Act, DFSCA, Title IX mental health requirements). Develop and implement prevention and awareness programs (suicide prevention, substance use, sexual misconduct). Support grant management, compliance, and identification of new funding opportunities. Serve on campus committees; maintain partnerships with community providers; represent the college externally. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in the mental health field. Related duties, initiatives, and projects as assigned. Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, or social work. Five years professional counseling experience with a diverse client population. Two years of managerial/supervisory experience in counseling services. Licensed as a professional counselor, (LPC) social worker (LCSW) or psychologist in New Jersey. Demonstrated experience with crisis intervention. Demonstrated ability with data presentation, secure written and electronic forms of data collection and management requiring knowledge of current computer software such as Microsoft Office, web-based tools and a database system. Experience managing grant funded programs; experience researching and writing grant proposals. 1. Experience working with alcohol/substance abuse issues. 2.
