A Mental or Behavioral Health Counselor works with patients to treat mental health problems. Assesses patients and assists with diagnosis, counseling and crisis intervention. Consults with nurses, doctors and psychiatrists. May work with specific populations, such as youth, senior citizens or substance abusers, in group settings, facilities or hospitals.

II, LCADC
treats patients by utilizing a variety of modalities as a member of the multidisciplinary clinical treatment team. Also provides psychological/social interventions that support patients and families relating to behavioral health with primary mental health, substance use and/or co-occurring disorders.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Master`s degree in Social Work (MSW) or Master's degree in Addiction/ Counseling, or a related field. Minimum of two years of post-licensure work experience in the same field. Ability to perform psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans. Knowledge of crisis intervention theory, its application in a variety of settings, as well as knowledge of disease management and disease process and differential diagnoses, and treatment techniques. Knowledge in biomedical/medical client education as well as psychopharmacology/physiology of addiction. Ability to work as part of a team, while building collaborative relationships. Must possess excellent follow through and attention to detail. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Ability to provide guidance/mentorship to other team members.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Professional Counselor License or Marriage and Family Therapy,Professional Counselor. Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. If you feel the above description speaks directly to your strengths and capabilities, then please apply today!
