Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Addictions Counselor (LADC) or CADC-Intern to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive addiction and mental health counseling to individuals and families, supporting their journey toward recovery and wellness. You will utilize evidence-based practices, including psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapies, to develop personalized treatment plans. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine individual treatment needs. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health stabilization, and behavioral management. Apply crisis intervention techniques to support clients experiencing acute distress or relapse, ensuring safety and stabilization. Document all clinical interactions accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical record standards using appropriate medical terminology and CPT coding when applicable. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on case management, discharge planning, and community resource linkage to promote holistic care. Maintain ongoing professional development by staying current with research in addiction medicine, ICD coding updates (ICD-10), and best practices in behavioral health. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LADC) or certification as a CADC-Intern; active supervision for interns is required. Proven experience in addiction counseling, mental health therapy, or related clinical settings; home & community care experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis management strategies. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10), and HIPAA compliance. Excellent skills in patient assessment, case management, and delivering both individual and group counseling sessions. Ability to handle crisis situations effectively while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Strong communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning in behavioral health disciplines.
