- Contract Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or a qualified professional with equivalent credentials to join our dynamic behavioral health team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide psychotherapy in Cornwall, NY. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with mostly children ages 8 and older, as well as teens and adults of all ages. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including intake evaluations and diagnostic formulations using ICD-10 coding standards. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and motivational interviewing. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical ethical guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and evidence-based practices. Document clinical encounters accurately in medical records, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards and confidentiality protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including case management and research activities related to behavioral health outcomes. Engage in telehealth therapy sessions utilizing telehealth platforms to extend access to mental health services across various settings. Requirements Valid licensure as an LMHC or equivalent credential; experience working with children, adolescents, or geriatrics preferred. Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, and social work principles. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, co-occurring disorders, or chronic pain conditions is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and familiarity with medical terminology. Proven ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations within outpatient or inpatient settings. Excellent clinical documentation skills adhering to standards for medical records and legal compliance. Proficiency in crisis management, behavior management strategies, and working effectively under pressure in urgent situations. Experience with telehealth platforms and delivering remote mental health services is preferred. Knowledge of evidence-based practices in behavioral health and familiarity with special education or pediatrics is a plus.
