Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to provide community-based mental health services at a residential and supportive living setting in Corona Queens. The program is looking to build staffing capacity with peers and clinicians who can provide engagement, support, and services directly in the community and onsite setting. Responsibilities Support residents through engagement, clinical support, coordination, and connection to care. Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluation to determine client needs. Provide evidence-based psychotherapy approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy tailored to individual client requirements. Facilitate group therapy sessions. Implement crisis management strategies to de-escalate situations effectively while ensuring client safety and well-being. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans incorporating medical terminology and documentation standards compliant with HIPAA regulations. Engage in case management activities including patient care coordination, medical records maintenance, and data collection for clinical research purposes. Qualifications Valid LMHC or LCSW License. Experience working with older adults, and experience with dementia or cognitive decline. Proven experience in behavioral health settings with expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, or applied behavior analysis. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards for medical documentation and medical records management. Strong communication skills complemented by experience in patient assessment, behavior management, and social work practices.

$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
