Job Description
The Family Counseling Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Crisis Counselor to join our fast-paced walk-in crisis department. This role involves providing immediate, in-person mental health support, including crisis intervention, de-escalation, and brief solution-focused therapy. This is a front-line opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred Prior experience in mental health, crisis intervention, or related setting preferred Strong interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills Ability to assess risk and respond effectively in high-pressure situations Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR), Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace Key Responsibilities Provide trauma-informed, person-centered crisis intervention services Conduct mental health assessments and deliver brief therapeutic interventions Develop and implement individualized short-term crisis and safety plans Coordinate referrals and ensure continuity of care through follow-up support Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation Participate in mobile crisis response services as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and community partners Work Environment Office/clinic-based setting with a fast-paced, high-demand environment Community-based work and travel may be required Join a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on providing lifesaving care to those in need.
