Job Description

The TRUST Center is a leading outpatient substance abuse program dedicated to supporting individuals in their recovery journey. Our comprehensive multi-disciplinary team is committed to providing exceptional group and individual counseling services. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Group Counselor to join our team. This role is crucial in helping clients develop coping strategies, manage their mental health, and maintain a commitment to recovery. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a deep understanding of substance use disorders, and experience in group facilitation. Join us in making a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve. Responsibilities Facilitate group counseling sessions to foster open dialogue and provide support to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. Develop and deliver psychoeducational sessions on topics such as coping skills, relapse prevention, self-esteem, and stress management. Respond to client crises with appropriate interventions, providing support and guidance to manage acute situations. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including medical staff and other counselors, to provide comprehensive support for each client. Attend staff meetings and training sessions as requested to ensure continuous professional development. Qualifications Minimum credential CASAC T with eligibility to obtain the CASAC credential within the first year of employment; CASAC preferred or QHP licensed by NYSED. Familiarity with evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care. Valid NYS Drivers license. Strong group facilitation skills and knowledge of substance use disorders and addiction recovery. Ability to build rapport with diverse populations and excellent communication and crisis intervention skills. Benefits Opportunities for professional development and training . Offered compensation:
$23.50/hr - $25.75/hr
