Job Description

Part time Counselor Counsels individuals and families at our Comprehensive Outpatient Program of Northpointe Council, Inc. who are experiencing current or past effects of substance use disorder or other addictions. Carry a case load of individuals suffering from an addiction. Candidates must be able to work Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday 1pm-7pm. NO weekends, Monday or Friday shifts. Our mission at Northpointe Council, Inc. is to provide high-quality person-centered prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery to those affected by substance use disorders and other addictions from the Greater Niagara Area. Essential Skills Northpointe is seeking candidates who possess a strong foundation in client engagement, counseling, clinical evaluation, treatment planning, referral, client, family and community education, documentation, service coordination, professional and ethical responsibilities, along with a positive "Can Do" approach. Education and/or
Experience:
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree. Prefer Master's Degree (M.A.) or equivalent in Counseling, Social Work, or Rehabilitation Counseling from an accredited college or university. Must meet standard for Qualified Health Professional (QHP) as defined by New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) regulation and possess certification or licensure such as CSW, RN, CASAC, etc. Prefer two years' paid full time experience in mental health or chemical dependency treatment setting OR equivalent combination of education and experience. .
Schedule:
Tuesday-Wednesday Thursday 1pm-7pm. NO weekends, Monday or Friday shifts.
