Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges and addiction issues. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will utilize your lived experiences and training to empower others on their journey to recovery, fostering hope and resilience within the community. Duties Provide one-on-one support to clients, helping them navigate their recovery journey through shared experiences. Facilitate crisis intervention and management strategies to assist clients in high-stress situations. Conduct motivational interviewing sessions to encourage clients in setting and achieving personal goals. Offer behavioral health education and resources, ensuring clients have access to necessary information for informed decision-making. Mentor clients by sharing coping strategies and recovery techniques that have proven effective in your own experience. Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions using EHR systems, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills in addiction counseling, social work, and crisis management. Experience Certification as a Peer Specialist is required. Experience in crisis intervention and management is highly desirable. Background in behavioral health or mental health counseling is preferred. Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques is beneficial. Previous experience in mentoring or providing support within addiction counseling settings is a plus. Knowledge of EHR systems for documentation purposes is advantageous.
