Job Description

Overview Our Practice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to provide in‑person therapy services at our Westbury, NY location. This part‑time, flexible position is ideal for a clinician experienced in supporting individuals with depression, anxiety, substance use challenges, and difficult life transitions. We are an insurance‑friendly practice and accept most insurance carriers , which helps support steady patient referrals as you build your caseload. In this dynamic role, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based psychotherapy and clinical support to diverse client populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help individuals navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and document progress to determine client needs, and treatment plans. Provide individual, in‑person psychotherapy sessions. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and maintaining HIPAA-compliant medical records. Collaborate with the Practice as needed regarding patient care. Build and manage your own client caseload. Maintain professional growth by staying current with clinical research developments and best practices in mental health counseling. Experience Valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or equivalent in the respective state. Proven experience delivering psychotherapy across diverse populations with a focus on child & family counseling, behavioral therapy, and crisis management. Demonstrated expertise in working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and those experiencing trauma or PTSD. Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health conditions and experience documenting clinical encounters in medical records systems. Knowledge of
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding for diagnostic classification and CPT coding for billing purposes is highly desirable. Background in inpatient or outpatient clinical settings with exposure to hospital environments is advantageous. Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently. Strong communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care are essential for success in this role.
Pay:
$65.00 - $100.00 per hour
