Located at the intersection of Sheridan Drive and Country Parkway in Williamsville, NY, we are dedicated to delivering compassionate mental health care tailored to individual needs. Overview We are seeking a dedicated Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor to join our multidisciplinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals pursuing licensure who are eager to develop their clinical skills in a supportive environment. The counselor will provide vital mental health services, including assessments and therapy, under supervision, contributing to positive client outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct initial patient intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards. Provide evidence-based psychotherapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and behavior management techniques. Utilize motivational interviewing and crisis intervention strategies to support clients through challenging situations. Deliver child and family counseling, including group therapy sessions and youth therapy tailored to developmental needs. Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and facilitate case management. Engage in telehealth therapy sessions utilizing EMR/EHR systems to expand access to mental health services. Requirements Currently hold or be eligible for a limited permit or provisional license as a mental health counselor or related credential. Demonstrated knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral health interventions, and trauma-focused therapy. Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, co-occurring disorders, and PTSD care is highly desirable. Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical records documentation. Strong clinical assessment skills complemented by experience in crisis management and behavior management strategies. Proficiency in clinical documentation standards within EMR/EHR platforms; telehealth experience is preferred. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients effectively across diverse populations while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
