Outpatient Therapist (LPCC/LISW) MedScope Advisors Akron, OH Job Details Full-time $65,000 - $75,000 a year Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Tuition reimbursement Parental leave Retirement plan Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Teamwork BLS Certification Individual therapy Master's degree Driver's License Basic life support Clinical documentation Organizational skills Full Job Description Outpatient Therapist (LPCC/LISW - Independently Licensed) SUMMARY The Outpatient Therapist provides high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services to individuals, families, and groups in an outpatient setting. This role is responsible for conducting assessments, establishing diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions in accordance with Ohio licensure standards, agency policies, and applicable state and federal regulations. Services are delivered through a person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approach.

Clinical Supervisor or Designee
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct comprehensive behavioral health and psychosocial assessments, including diagnostic evaluations Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the care team Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy within scope of independent licensure Utilize evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, MI, and trauma-informed care Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the EHR in accordance with OMHAS, Medicaid, and agency standards Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and care coordination Collaborate with internal teams, referral sources, and community partners to support continuity of care Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals for higher levels of care as needed Maintain ethical standards, professional boundaries, and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 Participate in supervision (as needed), training, and continuing education Comply with all agency policies, procedures, and applicable regulations Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment models and recovery-oriented systems of care Excellent clinical documentation and organizational skills Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team Reliable transportation and ability to meet agency driving/insurability requirements American Heart Association (AHA)
BLS Certification Preferred:
Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders Familiarity with Medicaid billing and documentation requirements Experience in community mental health, integrated care, or FQHC settings
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
Active, unrestricted, independently licensed in the State of Ohio required: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor ( LPCC ) or Licensed Independent Social Worker ( LISW ) Associate-level licenses (LPC, LSW) are not eligible for this role Valid, unrestricted Ohio driver's license
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
