2016497T Department Summary This is a generalist position that requires a license to practice in state of Ohio as a counselor or psychologist, to provide mental health services to Ohio University students at the Counseling and Psychological Services. This position will spend about 4 days a week with the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine as an embedded mental health clinician to provide mental health services to medical students and consultation/training to medical school staff. Provide individual, couple and group counseling, conduct initial intake and triage assessments and psycho-diagnostic assessments, crisis interventions, mental health consultation, primarily to medial students. Be part of after-hours crisis rotation team. Provide outreach, training and consultation to staff, faculty and students Supervise and evaluate clinical work of masters interns and trainees Attend weekly clinical and staff meetings and participate in committees within and outside the center. Complete clinical documentation and clinical preparation; perform administrative duties as assigned by the director. Position Profile Provides mental health care and education to students and the University community. May provide services in a specialized area. Provides triage, intervention, and crisis support services. Provides individual and group therapy. Collaborates with other medical personnel concerning patient care. Coordinates and/or participates in community outreach programs. Level Summary Manages and resolves complex and ambiguous issues. Works on both strategic and operational challenges, addressing problems that require advanced knowledge and experience. Often takes on leadership roles in projects or initiatives. Supervisory Responsibilities Provides mentorship and guidance to team. Infrequently has a limited number of direct reports. May represent the team in meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Physical Requirements This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs. Minimum Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or in a related field and 5 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience. Healthcare professionals must hold, or be eligible for, appropriate licensure as required by position.
