Duties Conduct thorough mental health assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and intake interviews utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to ensure accurate clinical documentation. Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, applied behavior analysis, and grief counseling tailored to each client's needs. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focusing on mental health issues like PTSD, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, addiction, gender issues, and chronic pain management. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during emergencies or acute episodes. Utilize EMR/EHR systems for precise documentation of patient care, treatment progress, medical records, and clinical notes following HIPAA guidelines and clinical ethical standards. Engage in case management activities including patient assessment, care coordination, research participation, data collection, and follow-up to optimize treatment outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient and outpatient settings to deliver holistic care that addresses co-occurring disorders and complex behavioral health needs. Qualifications Valid LPCC-S license with current certification in good standing; experience working with adults with disabilities or co-occurring disorders preferred. Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, dance/movement/art therapy, social work principles, or psychopharmacology is highly desirable. Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques, behavioral therapy methods including applied behavior analysis (ABA), and trauma-focused approaches. Strong understanding of ICD coding (ICD-9/10), medical terminology, clinical documentation standards, treatment planning processes, and HIPAA compliance. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with autism or developmental disabilities in outpatient or inpatient settings. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to conduct mental health assessments via telehealth or in-person while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as addiction counseling, grief counseling, social work principles, CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical research methodologies is advantageous.
