Full Job Description Residential Therapist:
Provide clinical mental health &/or alcohol and other drug services including Diagnostic Assessments and Assessment Updates, Individual and/or Group Behavioral Health Counseling Services, Treatment Planning, Discharge Planning, and Case Management.

Basic Function:
Provide clinical mental health &/or alcohol and other drug services including Diagnostic Assessments and Assessment Updates, Individual and/or Group Behavioral Health Counseling Services, Treatment Planning, Discharge Planning, and Case Management.
Responsibilities:
Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland and within scope of practice, implement site/corporation approved treatment practices, procedures or interventions. Conduct a diagnostic or needs assessment on referred clients. Write, revise and advocate for successful ASAM summaries with Managed Care Organizations to obtain authorization for treatment. Able to work in men's or women's residential treatment programs. Meet the productivity standard in the provision of direct client services, such as individual and group services. Plan, implement and evaluate services with the participation of persons served and their families. Develop, maintain and monitor assigned clients' ISP; review assigned clients' progress in treatment and may communicate with other qualified mental health or alcohol and other drug providers, and referring agency staff regarding the progress of assigned clients. Provide individual and group services as described above. May develop other therapeutic activities. Hold a reasonable sized caseload. Provide referrals to other services as required or necessary. Assist and support clients served in crisis situations as needed or deliver appropriate crisis intervention and safety planning services. Maintain fidelity to program and treatment model rules. When appropriate, assist family of clients in strengthening communication skills; access appropriate physical and mental health care and chemical dependency resources as needed; access transportation needs; and provide opportunities to build social skills. Collaborate and coordinate services with other involved professionals including psychiatry, primary care physicians, probation, and community mental health providers. May monitor psychiatric symptoms of clients as appropriate. Monitor services accessed by client to determine if services meet the clients' needs and determine any further follow up activity. Participate in quality improvement activities and service evaluation. Attend and participate in meetings, supervision and in-service trainings regarding specific areas of responsibility. Adhere to ethical standards specified by the Ohio Administrative Code and Catholic Charities' code of ethics. Meet the training requirements of the organization and the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Maintain professional licensure in accordance with the Ohio Administrative Code and provide Human Resources with a copy of current active professional license. Complete all progress notes and other documentation as required by policy, departmental procedure and accreditation. Provide and ensure the safety and rights of each assigned client by adhering to Clients Rights Policies; and report violations of client rights in accordance with policy. Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Typical office environment; Frequent sitting, talking, listening/hearing; Reading, writing and finger dexterity to manage correspondence, faxing, copying, answering phones, forms/documents, computer and client files required on a frequent basis; Organizing and coordinating schedules; Analyzing and interpreting data; Communicating with the public; Frequent use of computer and telephone/cell phone. Able to occasionally lift/carry up to 15 lbs. unassisted.
Requirements:
Combination of education and experience normally represented by a Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling. or Must have LSW, LPC or MFT. Dual licensure may be preferred. Maintain current certification in First Aid and CPR, as needed per program requirements. Must have strong understanding of addiction and mental illness. Must have knowledge and utilization of community resources depending on clients served. Must be able to form effective good working and therapeutic relationships. Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic, cultural and administrative backgrounds, including those with criminal justice involvement. Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, depending on program. Due to nature of 24-hour care, you may need to be accessible for communications, or in rare situations work any shift. Must be knowledgeable and responsive to cultural diversity issues presented in the coordination of services. Must have competent organizational skills, strong detail orientation and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to work independently from general instructions. Must have good working knowledge and abilities of computers, and Microsoft Office software and utilize Electronic Medical Record selected by organization. If providing transportation services, must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, provide copy of driver's license and are subject to a Moving Vehicle Report (MVR) check through the Department of Motor Vehicles annually. Any MVR grade of "unacceptable" is not permitted to operate a vehicle on behalf of Catholic Charities. If transporting clients, must provide proof of auto insurance including effective dates of coverage and maintain minimum liability insurance coverage of $100,000 per individual and $300,000 per occurrence for driving personal vehicle.
