JOB SUMMARY
The Therapist provides mental health psychotherapy to adolescents, children and families in an outpatient, school-based settingReports To:
Clinical Director/Academic Director/SupervisorsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to: Evaluate and assess mental health functioning and diagnosis of mental health conditions Provide counseling activities including but not limited to: enhancing coping skills, providing family functioning interventions, promoting communication and social interaction, family relationship enhancement, parenting education, substance abuse education and/or treatment, mental health, or domestic violence counseling, counseling sexual abuse victims Marital dissolution of family unification/reunification services: coordinating communication between parents, addressing stepparenting issues, providing custody assessments and recommendations, assisting with and evaluating parent/child/sibling visitation plans and visits, providing counseling and preparation for family transitions Emergency response to clients in crisis Complete required assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, case notes, and any other required documentation within 48hour time frame Submit billing in a timely manner and maintaining the required number of client contact/billable hours for position Maintain all required licenses, certification and continuing education requirements for state licenses and certifications Maintain ethical boundaries with clients, families, and others as noted in agency policy handbook Ensure confidentiality of clients Attend all client, staff, in services, conferences and other meetings as assigned or scheduled Represent and conduct self in accordance with LifeWorks, Inc. Mission, Vision, and Values Maintain consistent positive attitude that is imperative to the success of the service Perform other duties as assignedSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Experience working with youth. Knowledge requirements, knowledge of key educational system. Experience working with a diverse community of youth.Leadership:
Natural and proven leader who inspires youth to reach their full potential.Communication:
Poised communicator, motivator, able to write and speak persuasively, to build, empower, and coach youth.Teamwork:
Excellent collaborator with groups of people in order to achieve a goal. Able to cooperate, using individual skills and providing constructive feedback, despite any personal conflict between individuals.Problem-solving:
Proven solution-finder contributing to productive outcomes; ability to eliminate or reduce opportunities for error through planning and prevention; and ability to produce quick, effective solutions when necessary.Planning and organizing:
