The position, Therapist-General Practice works with Moore Youth and Family Services clients to navigate treatment for behavioral health concerns, substance use disorders, and family therapy considerations. This role supports the agency through supporting a caseload of clients aged 6-18 and providing these clients with counseling services and supports to help them through mental health crises, ongoing supports, and in offering wraparound case management referrals as needed.

None Job Responsibilities:

Individual, group, and family counseling with children and pre-teens ages 6-18. Provide direct therapeutic services to children and their non-offending family members if victims of child abuse. Coordination with other programs within the agency to provide comprehensive treatment services. Provide counseling services where appropriate to adults; including those with SUD, as part of family therapy, or those seeking services for workshops. Responsible for carrying a caseload of clients and entering the necessary case notes into the coordinating system. Maintenance of record keeping, tracking client progress, referrals, and preauthorization required for billing purposes. Facilitate evening group workshops or group therapy sessions for children and adults. Administration of required clinical assessment tools for clients and using those tools and assessments to create a treatment and/or service plan for the client. Develop and maintain a relationship with DHS, MPS, and other referral sources to ensure a referral base and to affirm partnerships between agencies. Adapt treatment modalities to the needs of clients. Coordinate with other interagency programs to provide comprehensive treatment services. Participate and engage in agency camps in collaboration with the Prevention Services team. Supervise and maintain all client records in accordance with agency policy, accreditation, and contract requirements. Refer client wrap around care to the agency Case Manager. Assists Clinical Director with Performance Improvement not limited to peer reviews and other responsibilities. Attend agency required activities. Other duties as assigned by the agency.

Required Education and Experience:

A licensed Behavioral Health Professional OR Under Supervision for Licensure with both mental health and SUD or a psychologist with both mental health and substance abuse treatment capabilities OR an advanced practice nurse in a psychiatric mental health specialty licensed as an RN with current certification.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Working knowledge of counseling, crisis intervention and principles to those who have been victims of child abuse and other crimes. Skilled at working with children and young adults. Ability to assess individual and family problems. Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment. Ability to work with children and navigate the conversational skills required to do so. Theoretical counseling techniques and approaches. Ability to manage time/perform essential responsibilities with limited supervision. Can work with clients aged 6 to adulthood in various circumstances and regardless of personal preference. Training in the administration of assessments and ASI, T-ASI, and ASAM criteria. Understanding of Medicaid billing and other billing. Microsoft Office proficient of moderate or greater. Ability to create written documentation that meets standards. Conversational skills. Teamwork and collaboration. Communication Written communication skills.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a temperature-controlled office environment most times with some accommodation made for clients which may include offsite meetings, teletherapy, and consults provided by phone, with text, or through other electronic mediums. All staff are required to attend meetings, serve on committees on behalf of the agency, and may need to travel up to 10% of their work schedule to accommodate the needs of the agency. Minimal lifting, bending, and dexterity of movement is required for this position. The agency operates from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the designated schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. for a 36-hour work week and 72-hour pay period for 26 pay cycles annually.

Salary:

Moore Youth and Family Services provides a salary commensurate with experience. Full-time employees are eligible for paid leave, health insurance, and the agency observes 11 state holidays. The salary band for Counseling staff is contingent upon years of experience and begins at $50,000 with a position cap of $70,000 with a starting salary of $50,000.
