$24.00 - $27.00 per hour DOE About Us The Children's Advocacy Center of Josephine County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families impacted by abuse through a coordinated, child-focused response. We work closely with law enforcement, child welfare, medical providers, mental health professionals, prosecutors, and other community partners to ensure children receive the support and services they need in a safe and welcoming environment. Position Summary The Family Advocate/Coordinator provides trauma-informed support, advocacy, and resource coordination to children and non-offending caregivers served by the Children's Advocacy Center. This position serves as a primary point of contact for families, helping them navigate the investigative process, access needed services, and remain connected to resources throughout the life of the case. The Family Advocate/Coordinator also supports multidisciplinary team collaboration through case coordination, outcome tracking, data entry, and communication with community partners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Family Advocacy & Support Contact families prior to CAC appointments to provide information, answer questions, and prepare families for services. Coordinate with other advocates and service providers working with the child and family to promote continuity of care. Provide support, education, and advocacy to children and non-offending caregivers. Conduct family needs assessments and identify barriers to services. Coordinate referrals for counseling, medical services, victim compensation, housing assistance, transportation, food resources, and other community supports. Maintain ongoing communication and follow-up with families throughout the life of the case. Assist families in understanding the investigative and criminal justice processes. Provide court accompaniment and support when appropriate. Facilitate warm handoffs to District Attorney Victim Assistance and other service providers. Case Coordination Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case review. Coordinate communication among CAC staff, MDT partners, and service providers. Provide updates regarding family needs, referrals, barriers, and service engagement. Assist with identifying unmet needs and improving service delivery. Data Entry & Outcome Tracking Maintain accurate and timely documentation in NCAtrak and other required databases. Track services provided, referrals made, referral outcomes, and family engagement. Assist with collection of program statistics and grant reporting data. Support tracking of prosecution outcomes, child welfare outcomes, and service engagement. Community Collaboration & Outreach Develop and maintain positive working relationships with MDT partners and community agencies. Participate in community outreach, awareness, and fundraising activities as assigned. Represent the CAC in a professional manner at meetings and community events. Qualifications Education & Experience Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be substituted. Experience working with children and families preferred. Experience in victim advocacy, social services, education, child welfare, behavioral health, or related fields preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary professionals. Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Proficiency with computers, databases, Microsoft Office, and electronic case management systems. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team. Working Conditions This position works closely with children and families who have experienced abuse, violence, trauma, and other adverse experiences. The work may involve exposure to difficult and emotionally challenging information. The successful candidate must be able to maintain professional boundaries, exercise sound judgment, and provide compassionate support while managing multiple priorities. Occasional evening meetings, court appearances, training opportunities, and community events may be required. Additional Requirements Successful completion of a criminal background check. Valid Oregon driver's license and acceptable driving record. Reliable transportation for local travel as needed.
