Job Description
The Student Wellness Specialist supports student wellbeing and success by helping students navigate healthcare systems, access physical and mental health resources, and engage in wellness programming. This role provides case management, coordinates care with campus and community partners, and supports prevention and outreach initiatives. The position also contributes to student safety and early intervention efforts through participation in behavioral assessment and student support processes, while ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Assist students in navigating healthcare systems, including insurance enrollment and accessing medical and mental health services Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with campus and community providers to ensure continuity of support Serve as a case manager for student referrals, including participation in Behavioral Assessment Team (BAT) and student relations processes Respond to students in distress and support crisis intervention and early intervention efforts Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, Clery, and related regulations Develop and implement health and wellness programming, including supervision of student peer health leaders Plan and deliver outreach and prevention initiatives that promote student engagement and wellbeing Collaborate with campus departments and external healthcare partners to support holistic student care Provide administrative support for counseling and student support services Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, public health, or a related field At least two (2) years of experience in a college, healthcare, or social service setting At least one (1) year of experience working with diverse populations and coordinating referrals or case management Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
