Riverview Center for Growth is seeking a Part-Time Adult Mental Health Peer Support Specialist to join our team and use lived experience to inspire hope, empowerment, and recovery in others. About the Role As an Adult Mental Health Peer Support Specialist, you'll use your lived experience with mental health challenges and recovery to support adults receiving behavioral health services. You'll provide encouragement, mentorship, advocacy, and practical support while helping individuals engage in services, build recovery skills, access community resources, and work toward their personal goals. Job Responsibilities Support adults receiving services through Riverview programs, including the Crisis Response Program Build meaningful, supportive relationships that foster engagement and recovery Help individuals identify strengths, needs, personal goals, and recovery strategies Encourage self-advocacy and support individuals in expressing their needs and preferences Model healthy coping skills, effective communication, and recovery-focused practices Provide encouragement, hope, and non-judgmental peer support Assist individuals in connecting with community resources and support systems Maintain professional boundaries and uphold the integrity of the peer role Complete timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record system Share responsibility for maintaining the on-site food pantry and clothing closet Attend staff meetings, trainings, supervision, and team activities Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Personal lived experience with mental health and/or behavioral health challenges and demonstrated experience in recovery and wellness management Ability to appropriately and professionally use lived experience to support others Comfortable working in community settings, including private homes Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences Commitment to trauma-informed, strengths-based care Valid driver's license and ability to meet Riverview's driving requirements Reliable personal transportation and proof of insurance Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Must pass criminal and abuse background checks Preferred Qualifications Oregon-certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) Experience working with adults in a community-based behavioral health setting Knowledge of local community resources and support systems Bilingual in Spanish and English To Apply Please submit a Cover Letter and Professional Resume .
