Job Summary This is a W-2 employee position with a compensation structure that includes a base rate ($20/hour) and a revenue split (%) based on the client reimbursement received for sessions held. Compensation is processed through the practice's regular payroll system, with applicable payroll taxes and required withholdings. Redwood Counseling, LLC welcomes compassionate Licensed Professional Counselors who are interested in joining a supportive, trauma-informed private practice. We encourage applications from both newly licensed and experienced clinicians. In this role, the LPC will provide ethical, client-centered psychotherapy in an environment grounded in safety, trust, choice, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural responsiveness. A genuine commitment to trauma-informed care is essential, while prior experience as a trauma therapist is valued but not required. Clinicians who have not yet completed trauma-informed care training will receive training through the practice and will be expected to complete it as part of their employment and ongoing professional development. Responsibilities Deliver care using trauma-informed principles, including emotional and physical safety, transparency, client choice, collaboration, empowerment, and attention to cultural and identity-related context. Provide clinical intakes and individual, couples, and/or family therapy within the clinician's scope of practice and areas of competence. Complete biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, risk assessments, and discharge documentation accurately and on time. Use evidence-informed interventions and adapt treatment to each client's goals, strengths, needs, readiness, and lived experience. Assess and respond appropriately to safety concerns, crises, and mandated-reporting obligations in accordance with law, professional ethics, and practice policies. Maintain clear professional boundaries, protect client confidentiality, and comply with HIPAA and applicable licensing-board requirements. Coordinate care with authorized providers and supports when clinically appropriate and with proper consent. Attend biweekly group practice meetings for practice updates, supervision, care collaboration, and quality control. Manage scheduling, secure communication, forms, and clinical documentation in SimplePractice. Use Google Workspace for approved practice communication, collaboration, and administrative tasks while following privacy and security requirements. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent in the relevant jurisdiction with current state certification. Demonstrated experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder, co-occurring disorders, and those requiring trauma-focused or PTSD care. Proficiency in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and evidence-based practices. Strong skills in crisis management, behavior management, intake procedures, treatment planning, and clinical documentation standards. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, inpatient/outpatient settings, hospital experience preferred. Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, medical terminology, and familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions. Excellent communication skills for client engagement and collaboration with healthcare teams; ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
