Duties Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents to determine mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and art therapy. Implement crisis intervention strategies promptly and effectively to ensure patient safety during acute episodes or behavioral emergencies. Collaborate with families, schools, and community agencies to coordinate care plans, facilitate case management, and promote positive outcomes for clients. Collect and document detailed medical records, patient care notes, and treatment progress reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize data collection methods to monitor treatment effectiveness, adjust interventions as needed, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Engage in ongoing professional development related to addiction counseling, PTSD care, working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism, gender issues counseling, and other specialized areas of mental health care. Requirements Valid Pennsylvania license as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) or equivalent credential. Proven experience working with children and adolescents in home or community care settings. Strong knowledge of mental health counseling techniques including motivational interviewing, conflict management, crisis management, behavior management, and special education strategies. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and electronic health record systems ensuring accurate record keeping. Experience with diagnostic evaluation processes for various mental health conditions including PTSD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, and substance use issues. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
