As a SAP Counselor, you will be key in supporting students' emotional and social well-being. A SAP Counselor provides consultation to school SAP teams and families regarding referrals for mental health and substance-related issues. Your primary goal will be to provide a safe and nurturing environment where students can express their feelings and challenges. This position requires a blend of empathy, active listening skills, and professional knowledge to identify students who may be struggling and facilitate appropriate interventions. Qualifications Minimum bachelor's degree in counseling, Social Work, or a related field Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team Knowledge of mental health and substance-related resources and referral processes Commitment to student advocacy and supporting diversity and inclusion efforts Key Responsibilities Maintain knowledge of the Pennsylvania SAP model and relevant laws Attend team meetings and provide support services Facilitate school-based support groups, conduct student screenings and assessments. Assist with referrals to appropriate services Provide training and promote SAP services to schools and school teams Maintain data for required reporting Skills and Knowledge Understanding of cultural diversity, trauma-informed care, and suicide prevention Knowledge of local resources and child-serving systems Familiarity with school safety issues and district protocols Ability to work independently and collaborate with community representatives

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
