As the only agency in San Mateo County with the sole purpose of serving those experiencing intimate partner abuse, CORA provides safety, support and healing. CORA's comprehensive services for clients include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, legal services and counseling. In addition, CORA provides community education and prevention programming throughout the county. - The bilingual Child & Family Clinician will provide mental health assessments, individual, family, and group therapies to individuals and families who have been impacted by domestic violence. The Family Clinician will be stationed at CORA's main office site and will be expected to travel to and from the Transitional Housing apartments and Emergency Safe houses as needed.PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
Clinical Services:
Provide individual, support group and family therapy. Support clients with psychotherapy services for approximately 60% of time devoted to direct client interactions. Supervision, case notes and other meetings will constitute the remaining 40% of your time. Caseloads will vary based on complexity, acuity level, etc. Staff is responsible for working with their supervisor to carry a caseload that utilizes this proportion of clinical to administrative time. Implement evidence-based therapy approaches in sessions such as CBT, DBT, family system, psychodynamic approach, psychoeducational approaches, among others. Maintain clinical files for each client and keep them in compliance with BBS and agency standards. This includes maintaining accurate documentation in progress notes, assessing and documenting progress and discharge summaries. Develop treatment plan and intake/psychosocial assessment for each client on assigned to caseload. Assessing safety concerns, risk factors and developing Safety Plans as needed. Participate in internal and external case consultations. Identify and translate clinical issues, including the contents of family therapy sessions to the staff. Provide referrals for external therapy whenever most appropriate.Program Support:
Advocate for resources needed within the county and work collaboratively with CORA departments. Conduct scheduled case conferences, interdisciplinary team meetings and adhere to the collection of data requests from our multiple funding sources. Provide support and education to non-offending parents. Conduct agency training on topics which relate to the special needs of the client population we serve. Complete special projects as required.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
License-eligible required (LCSW, MFT, AMFT, PsyD, LPCC, ASW, registered with the CA BBS). Licensed supervision will be available for AMFT and ASW. Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field required. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred: must be able to read, write, and speak in both languages. Experience working with survivors of trauma, specifically survivors of domestic violence. Trained in trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Sand Play and/or Play Therapy, or trauma-informed practices.WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Successful results upon hire from a DOJ Live Scan fingerprint clearance are required Completion of the 40 Hour Training - required and will be provided to the successful applicant upon hire if not already completed within last 5 years. This position requires you to work with children, and your profession qualifies you as "mandated reporters" of child abuse or neglect, which is found in California Penal Code Section 11165.7.
