Job Description

Job Summary Happy Moms is seeking a compassionate and motivated licensed perinatal mental health therapist to join our growing private practice as a 1099 Independent Contractor. This position is ideal for clinicians who licensed in Alabama and deliver specialized mental health services to women during pregnancy and the postpartum period, supporting their emotional well-being and fostering healthy maternal-infant relationships. Therapists will provide high-quality virtual and/or in-person psychotherapy services while managing their own schedule and caseload. Our practice specializes in maternal mental health, anxiety, depression, life transitions, financial stress, and overall wellness, and we welcome clinicians with diverse specialties who are committed to providing evidence-based, client-centered care to the perinatal community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families while working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in electronic health records (EHR/EMR), ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and clinical documentation standards. Engage in ongoing research activities related to perinatal mental health to inform best practices and improve patient outcomes. Provide individual psychotherapy services to clients using evidence-based treatment approaches. Maintain accurate, timely, and ethical clinical documentation in the electronic health record. Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor client progress. Maintain professional licensure and adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and consultation opportunities. Collaborate with community providers and referral partners when appropriate. Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and trauma-informed therapeutic environment. Maintain professional liability insurance and all requirements necessary to practice independently as a contractor. Build and maintain a caseload through referrals provided by the practice and personal networking efforts. Preferred Skills & Qualifications Required Active Alabama clinical license (LMSW, LICSW, LPC, ALC, LMFT, or equivalent, depending on hiring needs) Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and accountability Experience using electronic health records and telehealth platforms Professional liability insurance Strong skills in motivational interviewing, crisis management, behavior management, and case management within outpatient or inpatient settings. Preferred Experience working with women, men, fathers, mothers, perinatal mental health, anxiety, depression, trauma, or family systems Certification or training in Perinatal Mental Health, EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, or other evidence-based modalities Ability to market services and build a caseload Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply Join us in enhancing maternal mental health services in Alabama that empower families during one of life's most transformative times!
