Header Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our dynamic mental health and behavioral services team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive counseling and support to individuals across diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. Duties Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavioral therapy. Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively and ensure client safety. Facilitate specialized counseling for clients with co-occurring disorders, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, addiction issues, grief, or gender-related concerns. Maintain accurate clinical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards; ensure timely updates of medical records and notes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management plans, including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and family members. Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with telehealth best practices. Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance evidence-based practices within behavioral health services. Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as required by state law. Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral health interventions, addiction counseling, grief counseling, or psychopharmacology. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic purposes and medical terminology related to mental health conditions. Experience working with children, adolescents, adults with disabilities or developmental delays; inpatient/outpatient experience preferred. Strong skills in crisis management and behavior management; ability to handle high-pressure situations compassionately and professionally. Knowledge of clinical ethical guidelines and HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality. Ability to utilize evidence-based practices across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, special education settings, and telehealth environments.
