Full Job Description Job Summary:
Innerlight Community Advocates, PLLC is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A) to provide trauma-informed counseling and crisis intervention services to clients with severe mental illness or emotional disturbances. This role focuses on preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and reducing the severity of mental health symptoms in both minors and adults. The ideal candidate will work in partnership with families, law enforcement, hospital staff, and community organizations to provide holistic care. As a Bilingual LPC-A , you will offer counseling in both English and Spanish in community settings such as clients' homes, schools, and other locations. You will deliver client-centered services to help empower individuals towards independence and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver clinical services as outlined in treatment plans created by the Clinical Director, using independent clinical judgment to assess client needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including case managers, psychiatrists, and community providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Provide crisis intervention and mental health counseling services in accordance with Medicaid rules and HHSC contracts. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services provided, ensuring compliance with state and organizational guidelines, and submit documentation within 48 hours of service delivery. Participate in team meetings to evaluate and adjust client care plans based on progress and emerging needs. Provide culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care to diverse populations, including underserved communities.
Qualifications:
Fluency in English and Spanish required. Must hold a valid LPC-A license in Texas. Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices for treating mental health disorders. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in clinical documentation and maintaining client records. Valid Texas driver's license and access to reliable transportation for community visits.
Preferred Skills:
Willingness to work with adults, teenagers, and young children. Experience working with Medicaid populations or underserved communities . Previous experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A) in mental health and crisis intervention. Knowledge of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders . Ability to work collaboratively with wraparound care providers to ensure the quality and continuity of care.
