Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental and Behavioral Health Intern to join our team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in mental health to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment. The intern will work closely with licensed mental health professionals, assisting in the delivery of therapeutic services and contributing to the overall well-being of our clients. Interns are welcome to apply for any duration during the 2025 year. We are seeking master and bachelor program enrolled interns. Willowtree work with families and children involved with Department of Child Services and provides a variety of case management, skill development, and therapeutic services to the adults and children. Willowtree also is a BDDS Waiver services provider for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. We have a multifacted agency, which is a wonderful place to learn and grow. Your internship can be customized to be based around your school area of focus, career plan, and interests. Duties Assist in conducting initial assessments and intake interviews for clients. Participate in case management and treatment meetings and contribute to treatment planning. Document client progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with confidentiality standards. Collaborate with the team to develop and implement interventions Work directly with clients, under supervision Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance professional development and understanding of mental health practices. Participating in projects assigned by Supervisor/Director/CEO that assist in professional development and the projects and needs of the agency . Qualifications Currently enrolled in a program in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field. Strong interest in mental health, counseling, social work, childhood development, related field Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative and independence. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their mental health. Familiarity with ethical guidelines and confidentiality standards related to mental health practice is preferred but not required. This internship is designed for individuals eager to learn and grow within the field of mental health while making a positive impact on the lives of our clients.
