Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADAC) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide evidence-based mental health and addiction counseling services, supporting individuals and families through recovery, crisis intervention, and behavioral health management. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex challenges related to substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and trauma, fostering positive change and resilience. This position offers an opportunity to work in diverse settings, including community outreach, hospital environments, and outpatient clinics, making a meaningful impact on lives every day. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive client assessments utilizing DSM-5 criteria and clinical documentation standards to determine treatment needs. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with client goals, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality of medical records. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations involving mental health or substance use emergencies. Coordinate case management activities, including intake procedures, discharge planning, and follow-up care within home, community, hospital, or outpatient settings. Document all clinical interactions accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in compliance with medical documentation standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support clients with co-occurring disorders and ensure integrated care approaches are implemented effectively. Skills Extensive knowledge of addiction counseling techniques, mental health counseling, and behavioral health practices. Proficiency in conducting diagnostic evaluations using DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9). Strong skills in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care strategies such as PTSD care. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions across diverse cultural backgrounds. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and data collection; understanding of CPT coding for billing purposes. Ability to perform client assessments in therapy settings while adhering to clinical documentation standards.
