Job Description

Join our dynamic mental health team as a Licensed Counselor, where you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive behavioral health services to diverse populations. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth through evidence-based therapies. Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify client needs. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma, including PTSD care and grief counseling. Provide specialized services for children, adolescents, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), incorporating behavior management and social skills training. Facilitate intake assessments and develop personalized treatment plans aligned with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers—to coordinate patient care effectively. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using ICD coding conventions; ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards. Engage in clinical research initiatives to improve therapeutic approaches and contribute to evidence-based practices within behavioral health. Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote counseling sessions while ensuring confidentiality and technical proficiency. Stay current with developments in psychopharmacology, CPT coding, ICD updates, and best practices in mental health treatment. Valid licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or equivalent credential required. Proven experience in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, or behavioral health settings—preferably including outpatient or inpatient environments. Strong knowledge of diagnostic evaluation processes using
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding systems; experience with medical terminology and medical records management. Demonstrated expertise in working with children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and geriatrics. Proficiency in crisis management techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and addiction counseling methods. Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms; familiarity with HIPAA compliance essential. Skills in motivational interviewing, social work practices, grief counseling, trauma-informed care (including PTSD), and gender issues counseling highly desirable. Ability to conduct research activities and collect data to inform clinical practice improvements.
