Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychotherapy and mental health support to a diverse demographic of adults. Your expertise will help individuals navigate emotional challenges, manage co-occurring disorders, and achieve their personal goals through evidence-based practices. Most of the clients will be seen on an individual and/or group therapy setting. Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform treatment planning. Deliver individual, group, family, and youth therapy sessions using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavioral therapy. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety and stability during acute episodes. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations, ensuring accurate medical documentation and records management. Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling services while maintaining compliance with clinical ethical guidelines and confidentiality standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, medical professionals, and case managers—to coordinate patient care for individuals with complex needs or co-occurring disorders. Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to enhance evidence-based practice and improve service delivery outcomes. Skills Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), group therapy, psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and behavior management. Strong knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation. Skilled in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral health strategies for diverse populations including pediatrics, adolescents, adults with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and individuals experiencing PTSD or chronic pain. Experience working with children and youth in outpatient or inpatient settings; familiarity with child & family counseling, child & youth therapy, and pediatric mental health issues. Ability to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments using EMR/EHR systems; proficient in medical terminology and clinical documentation standards. Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care; capable of engaging clients through individual/group therapy sessions effectively. Knowledge of telehealth therapy practices combined with experience working remotely while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA), medical records management, ICD coding procedures, and treatment planning for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
