Job Description

Axis Counseling & Wellness PLLC is a growing outpatient counseling practice in Tyler, Texas. We are seeking an independently licensed Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our practice as a 1099 independent contractor . This position is a strong fit for a therapist who wants to focus on meaningful outpatient work while the practice provides much of the administrative structure, including referral coordination, credentialing support, billing, EHR systems, and intake workflows. Axis Counseling & Wellness PLLC currently has strong referral demand, especially through veteran-focused referral sources. We are intentionally growing in a controlled, ethical way and are looking for a reliable, grounded clinician who wants to build a caseload over time.

Caseload:
Part-time / half-time to start, with opportunity to grow over time Expected hours: Approximately 8-20 hours per week to start
Compensation:
60% of collected session revenue Estimated pay: Approximately $60-$80 per completed clinical hour depending on payer/source of payment Start date: After onboarding and credentialing requirements are completed Available Office Space We currently have two office spaces available for contractor use. Current availability may include evening hours in both offices, Wednesdays in one office, and Mondays/Fridays in another office. Specific office scheduling can be discussed during the interview process. What We Provide Established referral flow Strong veteran-focused referral demand SimplePractice EHR Billing and claims support Credentialing/onboarding support Intake workflow support Private office space availability Administrative support related to referrals and authorizations A professional environment with low micromanagement Opportunity to build from part-time toward a larger caseload over time Responsibilities Provide outpatient individual counseling services Maintain timely clinical documentation in SimplePractice Communicate professionally with clients and the practice owner Maintain appropriate professional boundaries Practice within clinical scope and ethical standards Refer higher-acuity or specialty cases when appropriate Coordinate with the practice regarding scheduling, documentation, and client care needs Requirements Active Texas LPC license Ability to provide in-person sessions in Tyler, TX Professional liability insurance, or willingness to obtain it Current NPI and CAQH profile, or willingness to complete/update them Strong ethical judgment Reliable communication Ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications Interest or experience working with veterans Existing credentialing or approval with TriWest / VA Community Care Existing credentialing with BCBSTX or other insurance panels Comfort using SimplePractice or similar EHR systems Good documentation habits Interest in building a long-term caseload Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is ethical, calm, professional, and clinically thoughtful. We are looking for someone who can build strong rapport with clients, maintain appropriate boundaries, and provide consistent outpatient care. This role may be a good fit if you want a steady outpatient therapy setting, veteran-focused clinical work, administrative and billing support, schedule flexibility, and a gradual path toward a larger caseload. Important Note Because of payer requirements, applicants must be independently licensed as an LPC. LPC-Associates are not eligible for this position at this time.
