Job Description

Seeking Independently Licensed Counselor for new SUD/MH program. Minimum requirements are Master's degree and one of the following:
LPC LCSW LMFT
Starting pay: $34/hr+ plus a sign-on bonus of $2000 (paid after 90 days of employment). •Hybrid Schedule•
Job Summary:
At Behavioral Health Group (BHG), we believe recovery is possible for every patient. We are expanding our Substance Use and Mental Health (SUD/MH) services and seeking compassionate, driven clinicians who want to make a meaningful impact through individualized, one-on-one counseling. This role is part of a growing dual diagnosis program focused on supporting patients experiencing both substance use and mental health challenges. As a SUD/MH Counselor, you will help patients build the skills, confidence, and support systems needed to move toward lasting recovery and improved emotional wellness. Reporting to the Counselor Supervisor or Program Director, you will provide evidence-based individual counseling services within a collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on dignity, accountability, and hope. What You'll Do Provide High-Quality Individual Counseling Conduct comprehensive assessments and support patients in identifying strengths, overcoming barriers, and achieving recovery goals Provide evidence-based one-on-one counseling, crisis intervention, and supportive care for patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders Develop individualized treatment plans and clinical documentation that meet medical necessity, billing, and regulatory standards Help patients address underlying mental and physical health conditions that contribute to addictive behaviors Coordinate care with medical providers, case managers, recovery teams, and community partners to support whole-person treatment Ensure patient records are accurate, timely, and compliant with state and organizational requirements Support Patient Engagement and Recovery Build trusting therapeutic relationships using motivational enhancement and trauma-informed approaches Encourage hope and reinforce that addiction is a treatable medical condition, not a moral failing Help patients develop coping skills, emotional resilience, relapse prevention strategies, and healthy routines Conduct outreach and follow-up efforts to improve patient engagement and continuity of care Assist patients in accessing community resources and support systems that promote long-term stability and recovery Help Build and Strengthen the Program Contribute to the continued growth and development of the dual diagnosis counseling program Collaborate with leadership on program initiatives, workflows, and process improvements Serve as a positive ambassador for BHG internally and within the community Support outreach efforts and relationship-building with referral partners and healthcare providers Help foster a culture grounded in compassion, accountability, and clinical excellence What We're Looking For Independent Licensure (LPC, LCSW or LMFT) plus master's degree Experience providing substance use disorder and/or mental health counseling services Knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches and recovery-oriented care Strong clinical documentation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to build rapport and maintain therapeutic relationships with diverse patient populations A collaborative mindset and passion for helping individuals in recovery Commitment to professionalism, ethical care, and patient confidentiality Why Join BHG?
