A Mental or Behavioral Health Counselor works with patients to treat mental health problems. Assesses patients and assists with diagnosis, counseling and crisis intervention. Consults with nurses, doctors and psychiatrists. May work with specific populations, such as youth, senior citizens or substance abusers, in group settings, facilities or hospitals.
Bayou Wellness is a well-established and reputable private counseling practice in Pensacola, Florida. We are currently seeking stellar licensed mental health counselors, clinical social workers, and marriage and family therapists to join our team. (We are not hiring registered interns at this time. Therapists must be licensed in the state of Florida.) As part of our team, you'll conduct therapy in a beautiful, spacious, and welcoming private practice setting, with full control over your schedule and the support of an outstanding group of clinicians. You'll also receive training in insurance processes, including verifying benefits and submitting electronic claims.
Clinical Duties:
Provide direct counseling to individuals, couples, teens, and/or children (based on your preferred demographic) Develop and implement treatment plans Utilize evidence-based therapy modalities Offer crisis intervention support as needed
Administrative Duties:
Contact and schedule new client referrals Verify insurance benefits Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated care Submit insurance claims
Experience & Qualifications:
Active licensure in Florida as an LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT Previous experience in a mental health setting Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation standards Understanding of counseling techniques and behavioral health principles Ability to work with diverse populations Minimum 1-year commitment (We're seeking team members who see themselves growing with us long-term)
